Responsible Behaviour Plan for Students
based on The Code of School Behaviour
Rationale
In conjunction with Education Queensland, Eagle Junction State School is committed to provisions that enable all young Queenslanders to have a right to and receive a quality education.
Our aim is to create the conditions for each learner to progress towards responsible self-management, whilst learning about how and why people behave the way they do. Because we focus on catering for individual differences, we realise that all children will move towards this goal at their own pace and that they will also have individual needs along the way.
The schooling of our young is a major function of the society in which we live. It is a responsibility of schools to provide the opportunity for our students to develop and to achieve in a wide range of areas which cater for the needs of our society and of the individual.
In particular, our school has a high regard for the development of the individual. To ensure that the children make the best of the opportunity, we believe the following is essential:
- the teaching staff of Eagle Junction State School must strive to be supportive and committed in providing an inclusive and engaging curriculum
- the students of Eagle Junction State School must strive to achieve responsibility, self- control and social competency and be prepared to do of their best
- the parents of Eagle Junction State School students have a joint responsibility in encouraging children to be accountable for their behaviour.
The school community works together to create a disciplined environment. It is necessary for all of our groups - teachers, students and parents - to fulfil their responsibilities through constructive communications and relationships with each other. Acceptance of these responsibilities should enable all concerned to attain a high level of pride, participation and achievement.
At Eagle Junction State School we are committed to creating and maintaining an environment which assists the pupils to reach their potential in all aspects of school life, both formal and informal.
