Tuckshop
The Tuckshop Committee is elected annually as a sub-committee
of the P & C Association. This committee undertakes to ensure the efficient
operation of the school tuckshop, within the tuckshop policy and aims to provide
the children and staff with a high standard of food service.
The tuckshop is a pleasant and friendly venue where voluntary
workers can meet other parents associated with the school. This provides a useful
social function for newcomers.
The nutrition policy of the EJSS tuckshop has been based
on information supplied by Commonwealth and State Departments of Health. Parents
are provided with information regarding the functions and policy of the tuckshop
via price lists and other notices throughout the year.
The P & C employs a convenor, Mrs Colleen McCullagh, who
supervises the day-to-day running of the tuckshop. Mrs McCullagh is always very
happy to discuss any matters relating to the food and services. Members of the
tuckshop committee are also available to advise on our policy.
The tuckshop committee has endorsed a policy that pre-school
aged children are not permitted in the tuckshop area. The committee encourages
parents who are unable to work on tuckshop, to find other satisfying ways to
contribute e.g. home baking, while their children are young.
The committee welcomes all new parents and children to Eagle
Junction State School and invites those parents who are able to participate
in the running of the tuckshop, either by voluntary work or by joining the committee,
to do so. Please see Mrs McCullagh as soon as possible in 2008 if you can assist
on the voluntary roster for the tuckshop. At various times during the year,
the tuckshop has separate fundraising events, such as Mother's Day Stall, Father's
Day Stall, Christmas Stalls and Sports Days for which assistance is also required.
