Educational Activities/Trips/Excursions/Visits/Camps
Students undertake visits, trips and excursions which relate
to school activities at various times during the year. All such activities are
supervised by staff and are designed to broaden knowledge and extend social
development as well as to cater for particular subject areas. Students should
be encouraged and be given the opportunity to be involved in such activities
as they play an important part in their educational development.
Each year the school's P&C association provides a general approval for the school to participate in educational excursions.
The school
expectation is that from time to time students will be involved in camps, visits
or excursions, shows and sporting events.Where absence from the school grounds
is required, parents will be advised of the situation and requested to return
a permission note. Requests for cost contribution and transport assistance may
form part of the permission note.
Where acceptable parental approval is not obtained the student
will not be allowed to participate. Inappropriate behaviour during any school
activity may lead to a student being disbarred from participating in future
activities, at the discretion of the class teacher and the principal. In the
majority of cases children are expected to be in full school uniform when participating
in one of these events.
At times families may be experiencing financial hardships.
Such hardships should not prevent children participating in the activity. An
approach to the principal may lead to a satisfactory solution.
