Doing the Eagle Rock…

Eagle Junction State School invites you to be a part of their major fundraising event, the Eagle Rock Fair, to be held at the school on Sunday the 22 June, 2008.

Clean, green & active theme rocks EJ fete in ‘08
Recycling bins, green bags for purchases instead of plastic, and encouragement to walk or cycle rather than drive to the fete will be used to make Eagle Junction State School’s Eagle Rock Fair on Sunday June 22 the cleanest and greenest yet.
Brisbane City Council is supplying recycling bins and green bags to the stalls at the fete and fair goers are also being encouraged to BYO green bags.
Held only every two years, this year’s Eagle Rock Fair will feature more than 35 stalls, rides and attractions and six hours of entertainment live on stage from 10am to 4pm on Sunday June 22.
RIDES
The hottest ticket will be an all day ride pass to Rock Ride Central for unlimited screams and fun on favourites like the Scrambler, Super Slide, Rock Climbing Wall, Ferris Wheel, Mad Hatter Cup 'n' Saucer, jumping castles and more.
SHOWS & ATTRACTIONS
Littlies will enjoy the Alpha Tykes puppet shows and craft corner, bowling alley and soccer shoot out as well as popular fun fair favourites like laughing clowns, haunted house, face painting, crazy hair and show bags to name a few.

FOOD
Taste buds will be flying high at the fete’s Brisbane Airport International Food Fair with Italy supplying quality, barista-brewed Torrisi coffee and primo pizzas, Sri Lanka serving up some savoury treats and the Aussie BBQ sizzling with garlic prawns, rib fillet and gourmet sausages. Traditional carnival fare like fairy floss, popcorn, hot dogs, snow cones and ice cream will also be in plentiful supply along with delectable home- made cakes, sweets and jams all for a bargain price.
A new attraction this year has been described as spin the bottle for grown-ups. The Wine Wheel will feature wine, bubbles, beer and spirits from around the globe where everyone who spins, wins.
ENTERTAINMENT
To top it all off, Eagle Rock's Centre Stage will play host to six hours of non-stop live music and entertainment including the Danger Bunnies to ensure a fun-filled day to rock the whole family.
PROCEEDS
Some of the funds raised on the day will be used to upgrade the school tuckshop to help better deliver healthy food options for the school’s 750 students, in support of the state government’s ‘Smart choices – healthy food and drink’ program for school children.
SPONSORS
The school is very grateful to the many local businesses who have supported Eagle Rock with sponsorships and donations, including Brisbane Airport Corporation, Flight Centre, Corporate Express, Goa Billboards, Ray White Nundah, ABN Amro Morgans, The Athletes Foot Chermside, Alpha Tykes, Healthworks Hendra, Kitchen Connection Albion and Chermside Building Centre.
